Asad Khan (Ph.D Architecture. 2017-2021. The University of Edinburgh), is an architecture scholar, existential riskologist, a computational designer and design educator. Khan's design-led doctoral thesis pioneered a methodological approach to perform architecture-oriented existential riskologies of climate change using forensic-grade techniques of remote sensing, artificial intelligence, computer simulation and statistical informatics.

Khan is a peer reviewer for the SIGCHI & DIS Conferences (2018-2022) and a research affiliate and a grant awardee of the Edinburgh Centre for Data, Culture & Society (CDCS); Creative Informatics (CI); Data-Driven Innovation (DDI); Edinburgh Future Institute (EFI); Institute of Design Informatics (IDI) and the National Library of Scotland (NLS) and Historic Environment Scotland (HES). He is the co-developer of the 'Edinburgh Datashare (Lidar Scans)' open-source point cloud repository.

Khan has published articles and presented papers across double-bind peer-reviewed formats including the Cosmopolitics Conference at the Biennale Architettura; Paul Mellon Centre ECRN; Existential Risk Conference CSER Cambridge: International Conference on Transdisciplinary Imaging; amongst others. Recent exhibitions include The 17th Venice Architecture Biennale; Liste Art Fair Basel; Futures Lab Shanghai; Ars Electronica; Talbot Rice Gallery.

Khan instructs graduate design studios across the Institute of Design Informatics (IDI), Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA), Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) and Reid School of Music (RSM) at The University of Edinburgh. He has appeared as a guest lecturer and workshop organiser at the Bartlett UCL; Architecture Association; SCI-Arc; Pratt Institute; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Academy of Art San Francisco; Goldsmiths London; Parsons School of Design; Glasgow School of Art; Städelschule Architecture Class amongst others.
